Rome's top sights

With so much to experience in this vibrant place, the difficulty is knowing where to start. You may decide to begin with a trip to Vatican City to take in some of the breathtaking historic buildings there, like St Peter's Basilica and the Apostolic Palace.

To give you just a taste, some popular places include Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini where you can wander through the house from the ancient ruins at the basement, up to the more modern floors above.
