Paris City Breaks

Chic and endlessly cool, Paris is a true must-see destination for anyone looking for a romantic, fun packed and memorable trip.

With so much to do and see, planning a city break in Paris can require a bit of thought to fit in everything you need to. But there really is nothing better than spending at least some time out from a busy sightseeing schedule to wander through the streets, admiring breathtaking palaces, the upmarket boulevards, bohemian cobbled streets lined with boutiques and patisseries, and hopping into an authentically French wine bar for a bit of light refreshment.

Famous destinations

Top of the list for most Paris visitors is the Eiffel Tower. Not only is it a truly amazing landmark, you can also take a trip to the top and look out across the whole cityscape. It’s the perfect place for a photo to remember, or just for a few quiet moments taking it all in.

Plenty of other photo opportunities can be had at the Arc de Triomphe, a grand monument in honour of those who died in the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars, or the ornately Gothic Notre Dame Cathedral, and the beautifully elegant church of Sacré-Coeur.

For those looking for a more sombre and moody afternoon, we’d definitely recommend visiting Pere Lachaise cemetery. This 19th-century burial ground is the final resting place of Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison among many others, and it’s a truly atmospheric and peaceful space.

Getting cultural

Paris is well known for having some of the best museums and galleries in the world. So it’s definitely worth exploring some of these stunning venues during your trip.

The Louvre has to come first. Not only is it completely iconic, it also houses some of the most intriguing collections you can imagine. You can easily spend hours there and still have more to see, so leave yourself plenty of time, and enjoy every moment.

Other standout cultural hotspots include Rodin National Gallery, the Picasso National Museum, the Orsay Museum which is home to a great art collection in a grand building that used to be a train station, and the Grand Palais where you can take in art exhibitions in at one side, then visit the Science Museum down at the other wing.

Stepping out

From the cool and quirky, to the high-class and elegant, when it comes to spending your time in Paris you’ll be able to find the scene to suit you perfectly.

Why not start off with a lazy day exploring the picturesque Luxembourg Gardens, or splash out in the fashionable shops of the Champs-Élysées.

In the evening, you can have a really fun night out in Montmartre, home to the Moulin Rouge, or dine at gorgeous, authentic French restaurants like Epicure, Nanou bar, Pur' - Jean-Francois Rouquette and Seb'on.
